Thank you CAMRA

Friday 29th July 2016

We would like to thank the South Hampshire branch of CAMRA and visitors to the Southampton Beer Festival, for raising over £1,014.40 for our Forget Me Not dementia group.

Each year at CAMRA's Southampton Beer Festival customers donate their spare beer tokens to a nominated charity. Festival Organiser Rob Whatley said, "We are delighted that our customers generously donated such a magnificent sum for a wonderful charity that does such great work in the local community.  We'd like to thank all our customers and wish Forget Me Not well for the future."

Rachel Hampton, Mayfield Nurseries’ Manager, says, “We are so grateful to CAMRA for choosing us as their nominated charity at the Beer Festive. People have been very generous in donating their unused beer tokens and the money raised will make a real difference to the Forget Me Nots group. We understand that everyone has a different experience with dementia and our friendly group aims to support sufferers and their carers through gardening therapies.”

The Forget Me Nots Group provides a safe and supportive environment for people with dementia to build confidence and develop new skills through a fun and caring approach to gardening.

The group meets every Wednesday and Friday morning, 10.30am to 12.30pm at Mayfield Nurseries, Southampton. http://www.mayfieldnurseries.org.uk/forget-me-nots-gardening-group
